Will the roads be paved? There are no current plans to pave the roads in Wind Canyon. They are presently being maintained by the developer. When all the lots are sold, road maintenance will be handed over to the County.

How deep are the wells? The average well depth is currently at approximately 700 feet. The average Gallons Per Minute are strong at 5-10 GPM.

What are water rights; where can I buy water rights? Water rights are resource use permits required to consume flowing ground water or to operate a well on your property (They can be arranged privately or through your local Realtor).

How did Wind Canyon get its’ name? The previous owners, ranchers in this area for many years, asked that it be named after one of the canyons in the development.

What wildlife can be found in Wind Canyon? Animal lovers enjoy many different kind of wildlife in the area including: mule deer, bob cats, coyotes, quail, dove, havelina, bear and occasionally even a mountain lion.

How far is it from Highway 180 to the furthest lot? The furthest lots border the Gila National Forest and are approximately 4 miles from Highway 180.

Is it windier in Wind Canyon? There is no evidence that it is windier in Wind Canyon than it is anywhere else in the Silver City area. Silver City experiences mild wind in the late winter/early spring when the weather is changing.

Do cell phones work in Wind Canyon? Yes, since the Alltel Tower is just east of the subdivision.

Can I get cable television or satellite television in Wind Canyon? While cable television is not currently available, satellite is easily received in Wind Canyon.

What Internet access is available? Internet access is available. Dial-up access is available from several IPS including AOL. Satellite Internet service is available from Dish and Direct TV. Wireless radio Internet is available through Signalpeak.

What is the minimum square footage for building? The developers of Wind Canyon carefully choose covenants so that its’ residents found flexibility for their needs. Therefore, they decided that there would be no square foot minimums in the subdivision.

Do I have to build within a specific timeframe? Again, wanting to offer their buyers flexibility, there is no required timeframe for building a home.

Can I buy 5 acres? Working with the county, and attempting to keep prices at a minimum, 10 acres is currently the smallest lot allowed.

Who owns property adjacent to Wind Canyon; what are their plans for the property they own? The Gila Forest is to the north. Turner Ranch owns other adjacent property. There are no known development plans at this time.

Is trash pickup available? Private trash haulers service Wind Canyon. An estimate of price is approximately $20.00 per month. Or you may transport your trash and recyclables to the county recycling/trash facility. In either case, the county assesses a $15 quarterly trash disposal levy on all residences.

Where do I pick up my mail? Arrangements may be made with the Post Office to deliver mail to the boxes located at the entrance to Wind Canyon near Highway 180. Alternatively, PO boxes may be rented at the Main Post Office.

Is there a homeowner’s association? No.
