While apprenticing as a Fee Appraiser for a prominent local Appraiser, Paul was offered a position with the County Assessors Office as a Field Appraiser and was solely responsible for appraising all the commercial and Business Personal Property Assessments within the County. Additionally, within his 22 month tenure, he created the department’s web site and drastically improved and revised the method of data collection and analysis to better determine Market Value to assure true and correct property values for the county’s ad valorem taxes. Paul’s true love for the community was further developed when he became the Project Manager for the Silver City Main Street Project and worked with Downtown Business Owners to promote the Downtown Historic District. In Boston in 1975, Paul was trained in the field of smoking cessation and over the next 20 years became one of the Country’s most experienced and leading experts in the field of Positive Behavior Modification for Smoking Cessation. Paul has helped thousands and thousands of cigarette smokers in New England, California, Arizona, New Mexico and even in South Africa, break their smoking habit. Paul can also be seen playing bass guitar and singing with his rock & blues group called Coyote Ugly (www.coyote-ugly.com) that he helped established in 1994, years before the “not so good” movie with the same name was released.
